The dates for the Benchrest competition are
Smallbore: March 16, April 6, April 20, May 18, June 1, June 15,
The competition will be shot as a league with the best 4 of 6 results counting.
Competition fee: €10
Competition will start at 11:15
Registration will be from 10:30 to 11:00,
Range Brief from 11:00 to 11:15
Time for Detail: 30 min
Class of rifle will be,
1 - International Sporter (sporting rifle weighing less than 81/2 pounds, action must be a repeater hold a minimum of 2 rounds in a removable mag)
2 - Unlimited (single shot rifles, barrel weights or harmonic tuners are permitted)
The Front rest must incorporate a pliable bag containing sand. The front portion of the rifle shall contact no portion of the rest (other than the stop at the front of the rest that can be used to locate the distance that the rifle is moved towards the target) other than the bag containing sand. The bottom of the fore end of the stock must form 100% contact with the top of the sand bag. The rest can incorporate vertical and horizontal adjustments.
The Rear rest is to be a bag or series of bags containing sand. The rear can incorporate a vertical spacer as long as it does not contain horizontal or vertical adjustments. The vertical spacer shall not contain any protrusions, which can be inserted into the bench top or the sand bag. The rear bag/s shall not be contained in any way.
Full Bore Benchrest: March 23, April 13,
Competition will consist of 1 x 5 shot group at 200 meters and 1 x 5 shot group at 300 meters:
Competition fee: €15
Competition will start at 11:15
Registration will be from 10:30 to 11:00,
Range Brief from 11:00 to 11:15
Time for Detail 7 min for each distance + 15 min set up time.
Class of rifle will be
1 - Rifle weighing under 13.5 pounds
2 - Rifle weighing over 13.5 pounds
